Labour/Union Representative Seminars

WCB offers two seminars specifically designed for labour/union representatives. They are offered in Edmonton and Calgary and should assist in helping understand WCB claims and the review/appeal process. The seminars are designed to be taken together over 2 days, but can also be taken as stand alone.

Note: Approximately one week prior to the seminar date, participants will be sent an email confirmation with links to class materials. Participants will need to print and bring the materials with them to the seminar. It is recommended the material is reviewed prior to attending.

> Understanding the WCB Claims Process
 
One-day 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Provides labour/union representatives with an overview of the process of the life of a WCB claim.

What you will learn:
  • How to file a claim
  • How decisions are made on workers' entitlements
  • How WCB manages the claims process
Who should take this course?

Designed for labour/union representatives to assist their members with WCB claims.

Free of charge to labour/union representatives.

> Requesting a Review of a WCB Decision
 
Half-day seminar 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Provides labour/union representatives with an overview of the process of the life of a claim.

What you will learn:
  • How to initiate, prepare and present a claim related appeal
  • How to assist your members to request a review or appeal a decision made on their claim file.
  • How to prepare and present an appeal to the review body.
Who should take this course?

Designed for labour/union representatives assisting their members in preparing an appeal of a claim decision.
