At the heart of our mission is a commitment to excellent service, continuous improvement and meaningful collaboration with workers and employers. We understand that each return-to-work journey is unique. By measuring our service delivery results at key milestones along the way, we ensure that our efforts consistently enhance return-to-work outcomes and experiences for the clients we serve.
Navigating the necessary steps after a workplace injury can be overwhelming. We want to support injured workers so they can focus on their recovery without the added challenge of financial instability. We are committed to getting claims started on the right track so we can issue wage replacement benefits as quickly as possible.
Our goal: Issue wage loss benefits to at least 83% of workers within 14 days of registering their claim.
For workers who suffer a disabling injury, modified work allows them to stay connected to their job and colleagues while contributing meaningfully. However, approximately a quarter of these workers face injuries that make them unable to return to their job within the first month. Recognizing the positive impact of a timely return to work on overall health and well-being, we strive to find suitable modified duties that support their recovery and allow them to remain engaged with their workplace and employer.
Our goal: Negotiate safe modified work options for at least 30% of workers with complex cases (greater than 30 days) when they become fit to perform light duties.
We work diligently with workers, employers and service providers to ensure workers get the medical treatment and support they need as early as possible. A safe and early return to work is a critical part of injury recovery. After four months, the likelihood of a worker returning to work decreases significantly. The longer a worker remains off the job, the less likely it is they will ever go back. Through consultation and collaboration, we are able to create plans that help the worker stay connected to their job and achieve the best possible recovery.
Our goal: Help at least 85% of workers achieve fitness to work within four months of their illness or injury.
If a worker’s injuries prevent them from returning to their pre-accident job, we work with them to find new opportunities for meaningful work. With access to timely and effective re-employment services, we help workers gain confidence and get the support they need to transfer and build upon their skillsets and experience into new job opportunities. From coaching and job search support to our job matching tool and innovative training-on-the-job program, we are helping workers succeed.
Our goal: Provide a job placement or at least one viable job lead to 85% of workers in need of re-employment assistance.
We want our clients to feel supported and heard. We value collaboration and welcome ideas and input from everyone involved in the service journey. We are dedicated to prioritizing timely and transparent service to ensure a meaningful and positive client experience.
Our goal: Ensure at least 83% of workers and employers are satisfied with the timely, transparent and respectful service they receive from WCB.
